Description of French Mastiff
According to the American Kennel Club, this is a working dog.

Things to consider before getting this dog

General description

The French Bulldog is one of the most ancient French breeds. He is a typical brachycephalic molossoid type. He is a very powerful dog, with a very muscular body yet retaining a harmonious general outline. Built rather close to the ground, the distance from the deepest point of the chest to the ground is slightly less than the depth of the chest.

Disease french bulldog is prone to

Bloat, or gastric dilatation and volvulus (GDV), is a serious concern in the French Bulldog. Owners should educate themselves to recognize the signs that bloat could be happening, and know what actions to take if so. Heart disease, cancer, orthopedic issues (such as hips and elbows), and epilepsy are also issues of concern in the breed. Responsible breeders will screen their stock for conditions the breed can be prone to. As with all breeds, a Bulldog’s ears should be checked regularly for signs of infection, and the teeth should be brushed often.

Do you really want to get a Pug!! Here is one for you in Ranchi!

Pugs have some unique characteristics that make them perfect dog in modern times.
They are the best apartment dog.

some unique character of pugs that make them cute

1. Stubborn

They are stubborn but that is seen by pug owners a desirable character

 2. Docile

Yes, they are docile in temperament. They follow whatever you command them. though sometimes they may command you too. like as in the case of one of my pug owner in my clinic, he may ask you to open your fridge and give him chicken or favorite food.

3. Charming

They are charming looking, but that is your mindset. Some consider them as monkey dog and some pet owners like them to see as human looking resembling some cartoon character.

4. Clever

Though they are small and yet they are clever. They understand what you say, many pug owners say they can understand your feeling. If you teach them anything 5 times, they will learn to do it.

5. Sociable

Pugs are social to other pets (unlike Beagle) and also to human. If you take them to social gatherings such as in the supermarket, they don't create mischief, they interact with surrounding people very well.

6. Playful

They are playful naturally when they are young. In fact, pugs are active dogs. The writer has seen many old pugs 10 years or above playing like a child provided, there is some human companion playing with them.

Some unique problems pugs face

Face yes, the flat face is a problem, They have the short snout, This is why the British Veterinary Association have asked not to breed pugs. They suffer from breathing problem all through the winter. Since their eyes are protruded, their eyes are hurt easily. They suffer from cataract easily.

Here are some PROS & Cons of owning a pug

PROS:
Great family dog. Friendly with children, and very happy in the presence of other people. You can easily travel with a pug on vacations (by car, not by plane).

Great apartment dog. Although a pug will spend time outdoors, as well, they don't need a lot of physical activity or space (unlike huskies, for example), so they will feel just fine in small apartments or houses.

Great and funny personality. The word "pugnacious" probably comes from "pug", and explains its personal best. Many people think pugs are stupid, but I think they are just obstinate and bold.
They will confront dogs which are 10 times bigger without blinking, but without being aggressive, either.

They can be a good therapist for people who live alone or feel sad. A pug will offer comfort, and will always be there to support you. They will cuddle next to you on the sofa, and never abandon you.

CONS:

Pugs shed a lot. They have a double-layered coat, which means they constantly shed their fur, unlike other dog breeds, which shed only twice per year. Don't be fooled by their short hair.

They don't deal very well with heat (even moderate heat). If you live in a hot region, don't buy a pug (or make sure you keep him in the shade and walk them when the temperature is lower). Otherwise, they can even suffer a heat stroke.

Related to the above point, they can overheat from too much physical exercise, so make sure you don't push them too much.
They need to be in good shape, but this doesn't mean jogging for 10 miles, but more like playing with a ball for 10-15 minutes a couple of times per day.

Pugs can be very needy and clingy. Expect your pug to follow you around the house all the time, everywhere! Also, expect them to lick you a lot.

They will be depressed if you don't spend enough time with them. Don't get a pug if you work a lot or travel a lot, and you cannot bring it with you.

Pugs are more prone to specific diseases: cataract or eye infections (because of their bulging eyes), Demodex (a skin infection), ear infections, and respiratory problems.

Food -
If you are really thinking of getting a pug, please be prepared a monthly sum for buying pug specific food. Both Royal Canin and Drools have pug specific food.

Cute Beagle pups available in Ranchi looking for home

The specialty of a Beagle

You must have seen a beagle dog rotating his eyeball around without turning is head. This way the beagle keeps an eye all over his premises. This turning of eyes without rotating his head makes him very cute.

There are other qualities of a Beagle

Beagle makes a perfect apartment dog

Unlike Labrador or German shepherd, Beagle is the perfect dog to live with you in a small space.
They do not need much exercise, they are an active dog but just walking inside a house is enough exercise for them.
They are less fussy eater.
They can be maintained easily in a cheap kibble diet. ( Please note Beagle are non-vegetarian or carnivorous, any attempt to keep them on home food or vegetarian diet will prove fatal for them ). Our Vet Dr. Suranjan Sarkar of Pluto Pet Clinic Ranchi recommends Vetpro food for them, which is cheap and easily eaten by the dog.

Temperament of a Beagle

The Beagle dog breed has a personality and temperament that is friendly, happy-go-lucky, but sensitive in nature.
Although they are loving and gentle, Beagles can have an independent, stubborn streak. Obedience training is recommended.

A word of caution

Beagle is not friendly with other smaller pets, such as rabbit, hamster etc. Therefore, It is recommended to keep Beagle only if there are no other smaller pets.
Beagle will be very tempted to bother rabbits, hamsters or any other little creature that one may have as a pet. The Beagle’s extraordinary nose will catch onto the scent and not give up in an attempt to grab them.

Special points to consider

Beware of this look
You can't ignore them

Double coated German Shepherd Puppy available

This pup is available at Pet Point Ranchi

Qualities of a German Shepherd

German shepherd dogs get along well with children and other pets if raised with them but in keeping with their guarding instincts.
The breed is considered to be smart and easy to train.
GSDs are very intelligent dogs.
They need stimulation and exercise. Boredom is their worst enemy.
They do make great family dogs and they are easily trainable (it has been said that you show a GSD something 5 times and it has learned it).

Please note German Shepherd is not a suitable dog for the first-time dog owner.

Food to feed a German Shepherd

  • German Shepherd's are beautiful large dogs which require a high-protein to diet to maintain they're energy requirements.
  • German Shepherds have strong and solid muscular bodies so they need high-quality nutrition to maintain their energy requirements.
  • German Shepherds needs a minimum of 22% of protein for their growth while adult dogs need a maintenance protein of 18%. They also need 8% of fats for puppies and 5% for adults to support their energy requirements.
  • The good thing about German Shepherds is that they grow very fast so you don’t have to spend too much on puppy specific dog foods. Usually, you can change to adult diet within six months time. Switching to adult formula after they reach the age of 6 months will prevent any joint and bone issues that are usually seen in animals who grow rapidly. Dr. Sircar of Pluto Pet Clinic, Ranchi recommends switching to Vetpro Adult dog after 6 months of age.

Single coat or Double coat!

Some dogs are naturally more of a single coat breed, whilst others tend to have a double coat.

Dogs that have a double coat have an outer coat (also called a guard coat), which tends to be wiry and acts to protect the dog’s skin and repel against water, dirt and other external environmental factors.

They also have an undercoat, which is softer, thicker and wooly (as opposed to wiry). This undercoat acts as more of an insulating coat for hot and cold weather. Especially in the winter, the undercoat gets thicker to give the dog more warmth.

Dogs with a single coat only have an external wiry coat, without the insulating undercoat. These dogs are considered to be less suitable cold weather dogs.
This is why people like double coated german shepherd as they are soft to touch in opposite to single coated one who looks like having a coat made of wires.
In both the cases, a de-shedding tool is recommended to be used daily to control shedding.
